PRINCETON, Ind. – MS Companies has been named "Business of the Year" by WorkOne Southwest, the regional arm of the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. To celebrate, it will be holding a career fair on Friday at WorkOne Southwest's Princeton office, located at 107 S. Hart Street, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The company is filling dozens of immediate openings in automotive manufacturing and will be interviewing and hiring on the spot.
As Business of the Year, MS Companies was recognized for its role in driving employment in the area, where it employs approximately 200, and for implementing a creative solution to commuting challenges between Evansville and Princeton. In February, the company launched an employee shuttle that operates between downtown Evansville and Princeton, one of the largest jobsites in the company's 14-state network.
Shuttles depart and arrive from 6th and Vine in Evansville, next to the Downtown YMCA. Adjacent to the Metropolitan Evansville Transit System (METS) station, the location is especially convenient to workers who may not have access to their own reliable transportation to and from Princeton. Garage parking is also nearby, making Ride to Work a great option for park-and-ride commuters. The program is only $10 per week - less than the cost of gas for the drive between Evansville and Princeton. Upon hire, MS Companies employees wishing to reduce the cost and inconvenience of their daily commute can sign up for the program. Fares are payroll deducted on a pre-tax basis
According to WorkOne Southwest, the Business of the Year award recognizes companies in Economic Growth Region 11 (Knox, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, Perry, Spencer, Warrick and Vanderburgh Counties) that have most effectively partnered with WorkOne Southwest to create and sustain a 21st century workforce. In addition to its ride-to-work service, MS Companies assists area job seekers by regularly holding career fairs at sites throughout the region, including WorkOne locations, where it also helps raise awareness about available openings that offer training and career advancement opportunities.
Because of MS Companies' emphasis on workforce development and career progression, employees of all experience levels are welcome. Once hired, employees receive all necessary training and have the opportunity to advance, either within MS Companies or to a position with one of MS Companies' clients. MS Companies employees also benefit from competitive wages, referral bonus programs, vocational development, and other great advantages.
Candidates may also apply online at careers.mscompanies.com or at MS Companies' recruiting office in Evansville, which opened in July and is located at 501 North Main Street.
